“I’ll be the first one in line”- Tyson Fury vows to defend his country just as his fellow Ukrainian boxers
Tyson Fury in a presser
Tyson Fury in his recent press conference said that he would be the first in line with the boys defending England if something like the conflict between Russia-Ukraine happens, says that if someone were to live in a country, they should defend it.
When the question was about what Tyson’s opinion was on boxers and other people signing up for getting into a battle with the enemy, Fury said, “Fantastic, you know uh… I’ll be the first one to join up if England gets involved or America…I’ll be first in line for the job. Mi dad as well, with the boys, we’ll all be signing up to defend, so that’s what I’ve got to say, I think if you’re from that country living there, defend it. Love your men and fight for them.” following which he received applause from the flock of reporters.
Tyson Fury’s promoter Frank Warren says “Everyone should be standing up to the bully”
Frank Warren, Tyson Fury’s promoter says that everyone should be ‘standing up to the bully, should be standing up for democracy and should be absolutely pulling up in support of Ukraine.’ Supposedly the WBC has stopped any events from taking place in Russia and prevented Russian teams and their athletes are being restricted for now from performing at multiple sporting events.
Boxing champions Wladimir Klitschko, Oleksandr Usyk, and Vasiliy Lomachenko have all joined the line of defense in the ongoing war in Ukraine with Russia. Anthony Joshua who had a rematch planned mid 2022 with Usyk might not get to showcase his talent and to grab the belt back from the Ukrainian as the War might mean he would have to postpone things.
