One of the most gifted young boxers in recent memory is Isaac Cruz. The Mexican constantly accepts difficult battles since he is an excellent boxer. Cruz has competed in 27 fights throughout his career, winning 24 of them. “Pitbull” has previously engaged in various tough opponents and everybody is excited about Isaac Cruz’s next fight.

Cruz made his professional boxing debut back in 2015 against Luis Yan Revilla and won the fight via KO. After that, the fighter went on an impressive five-fight winning streak. Cruz suffered his first loss against Luis Miguel Montaño in 2016 in which he lost by unanimous decision. This loss was massive for Cruz and after that, he had a great run in which he was undefeated for 18 consecutive fights. During this period he defeated the likes of Raul Hinojosa, Ivan Basurto Monroy, Jose Felix, Francisco Vargas, etc.

That run gave Cruz his chance of a lifetime, the WBA lightweight title opportunity against Gervonta Davis in 2021. However, Pitbull failed to deliver and lost the fight via unanimous decision. Since then, Cruz has bounced back and is currently on a three-fight win streak.

His last win has put Issac Cruz on the spot and fans are excited about his next fight. Ryan Garcia was eager to fight Cruz and even made the call-out. The Mexican was ready for the challenge and said:

“If the people want and his people are not scared, then he can come here and fight me,” said Cruz. However, according to Little Giant Boxing, the fighter is also looking forward to the Gervonta Davis rematch. The pair fought each other a few years back and Cruz would like to change the results this time.

“As I have said, I believe it was not a clear victory on his part against me, it wasn’t very advantageous.” (translated) said Cruz referring to his fight against Gervonta Davis. He aims to face Davis again, respecting him but eager to settle their bout in the ring with fists.

Isaac Cruz’s last fight was against Giovanni Cabrera and the fight took place in July 2022 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. In the fight, Cruz beat Cabrera via split decision and successfully defended his WBC Silver lightweight title. On top of that, he also won the vacant WBO Latino lightweight title. 

The fight went back and forth for most of its rounds and was very entertaining for the audience. The official scores were 114-113 for Cabrera, then 114-113 and 115-112 for Cruz.

 In the fight, two different fighting styles of fighters led to an odd, frequently frustrating contest, even though Cruz appeared to consistently deliver stronger blows.

Isaac Cruz was very satisfied with the results he had in his last fight against Giovanni Cabrera. “He never hit me with clean shots,” said Cruz after the fight. “I have a lot of respect for all my students. We expected an easy fight (against Cabrera).”

Seems like the fighter is taking some much-needed rest and is not in any training camp. However, that might not last much as Cruz is eyeing his next challenge.
