“Literally any weight”- Jake Paul vows to beat any fighter on Eddie Hearn’s roster

“Literally any weight”- Jake Paul vows to beat any fighter on Eddie Hearn’s roster

Jake Paul and Eddie Hearn

Eddie Hearn and Jake Paul are currently doing everything possible to promote the most anticipated female boxing fight in the history of the sport i.e Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano. Both the promoters have been quite friendly and respectful towards each other throughout the promotion.

However, an argument was inevitable between the both considering Jake Paul’s claims that he is going to be the best boxer in the world. It is no secret that Jake Paul’s ultimate aim is to be the world champion by defeating Canelo Alvarez. Interestingly Alvarez’s promoter is none other than Eddie Hearn.

Coming to the promotion of the Taylor vs Serrano fight, both Paul and Hearn took a bet of 1 million dollars on their fighters winning this fight. Soon after, while talking to the press, Hearn revealed his views regarding Jake Paul’s fighting skills. According to Eddie, Paul is a good fighter and is better than some of the fighters but he doesn’t believe that Paul would ever get close to being a world class fighter.

Jake Paul response to Eddie Hearn’s comments on his fighting skills

Certainly the comment didn’t go well with the YouTuber-turned-Boxer. Paul has always believed that he is going to be the best boxer in the world and is on his way with a 5-0 record. But, Eddie didn’t validate his wins as “professional” since none of them were professional according to his opinion. So, Paul responded:

“I believe that I will beat anyone on your roster that is under 10 fights… literally any weight”

Eddie again questioned being skeptical about the “any weight” comment from Paul. He proposed:

Anybody, any weight under 10-0…I’ve got about 400 of them. Cheavon Clarke is 1-0, he boxed in the Olympics, didn’t medal, he’s just had one professional fight. He’s a cruiserweight, you can have him. I’ll be careful with the price, I’ve got fighters for you. Any time, I hope you do

Paul again raised the bar by saying: “Give me a couple of years, bro, I’m coming for your boy Canelo. That’s one of the biggest fights in boxing that can be made.”

It is interesting to see how things got a little heated up before the Taylor vs Serrano fight. But, fight fans should keep their eyes on the fight since this has the potential to be the biggest women’s boxing fight in history. About Paul vs Clarke, if any updates come up, Firstsportz will be there to report.
