Floyd Mayweather is one of the greatest boxers with an undefeated record. He is known as a highly skillful boxer who gained a lot of success inside and outside the ring. Mayweather has never adhered to the typical strict training regimen that most boxers go through during camp. Instead, he trains at any time of day or night and prefers to train when his rivals are asleep.
According to him, it gave him an edge psychologically over his opponents because they were sleeping while he was training. In addition to his unorthodox training, Floyd Mayweather also had a unique diet that might seem controversial to some. In a JRE podcast, Joe Rogan spoke about carbonated drinks and their benefits. He said, “It’s a wonderful treat,” after an intense workout. Subsequently, Rogan mentioned how Mayweather drank soda right after a workout, and Rogan spoke to a nutritionist about its benefits.
Surprisingly, the nutritionist stated that drinking soda after an intense workout could help raise the glucose level in the body. However, this method remains a bit controversial but effective only after a rigorous workout session. Mayweather was the hardest-working boxer when it came to training, and many people believed he outworked everyone.
Drinking soda and consuming other junkie foods after a rigorous workout does not typically make sense. However, this practice works efficiently for an athlete like Mayweather, who always trained whenever and wherever he can.
How did Floyd Mayweather outwork everyone in the sport?
One of the sport’s most successful and skillful boxers has the most unorthodox training methods and diet. People know Mayweather for his irregular pattern when it came to his training.
However, this irregular pattern does not mean Floyd Mayweather was inconsistent but rather liked to train whenever he felt like it. After a night out, he would wear his shoes and go for a run regardless of what he wore. Furthermore, Mayweather would train for 5 hours, run for 10 miles, and still wake up at night to train.
Mayweather would train till 4 a.m. in the morning and sleep till 2:30 p.m., after which he would arrive at the gym again. Furthermore, his motto of hard work and dedication helped him nab the illustrious undefeated record.
