According to Forbes, the former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has a net worth of $10 million. In the past, New York Times reported that Tyson had earned a net worth of roughly $400 million before he filed for bankruptcy. Patrick Bet-David, an entrepreneur with an estimated net worth of $200 million, learned invaluable lessons from the boxing legend last year.

The duo discussed if money could lead to happiness. Mike Tyson said, “Listen, if you think a lot of money will bring you happiness. It means that you never had a lot of money before because money cannot solely bring happiness.” PBD analyzed the answer and asked Tyson what he valued the most in the present. Tyson replied, “Me, My children, my whole barometer of life. But money, oh no.”

A native of New York City, Tyson rose to fame in the mid-1980s for his boxing skills. At one time, he held an unbeaten record and dominated the heavyweight division, winning the heavyweight boxing championship. ESPN reports that Tyson would go on to win 50 of his 58 fights, with 44 of those victories coming by knockout.

Tyson was inducted into boxing’s International Hall of Fame in 2011. While Tyson’s boxing skills were impressive, his off-the-field antics began taking precedence over his athlete accomplishments. However, in the last decade, Tyson has reformed himself and remains a role model in society.

Teddy Atlas was an assistant to Cus D’Amato when Tyson was just a teenage boxer. Hence, Atlas and Tyson go back in terms of acquaintanceship. As a teenager, Tyson sometimes got nervous or flustered before amateur tournament bouts. In situations like these, Atlas would always calm him down by reminding Tyson to focus as they spent weeks in training camp in preparation for this moment.

Recently, Francis Ngannou reached out to Atlas. Currently, Ngannoue is preparing for his professional boxing debut against Tyson Fury. Ngannou hoped to get trained by the legendary trainer who worked with Tyson. Atlas agreed with Ngannou’s team to meet and work with him on a trial period before making the decision.

However, it was brought to his attention that Ngannou’s team had fixed Mike Tyson as the trainer and corner man. Initially, Atlas was quite upset about this but not entirely shocked. Ngannou came to him to learn Tyson’s uppercut in the first place, but who better to learn it from than the boxing legend?
