Conor McGregor training Claressa Shields at MMA is ideal for the “GWOAT”

Conor McGregor has coached on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ twice. The first one was against Urijah Faber at TUF 22. The second one against Michael Chandler in the recently concluded TUF 31. McGregor’s expertise in coaching is impeccable, as evidenced by his dedication to the TUF show.

Stephen “Wonder Boy” Thompson came as a guest coach for McGregor’s team on TUF 31, and he had nice things to say about McGregor as a coach. Thompson stated that the camera did not adequately capture McGregor’s mentorship, and the Irishman was heavily involved in the training regimen of his team. These factors remain proof enough to realize that he can mentor Shields in her MMA future.

Even though Shields is signed with PFL, a rival of UFC, McGregor is known to support friends and teammates irrespective of the organization they are signed with. If the partnership between the Shields and the Irishman ever comes to fruition, it has the potential to rival the duo of Mike Tyson and Francis Ngannou.
