The WBC heavyweight champion’s recent comments on Joe Rogan triggered a chain of events that led Dana White to offer Fury a fight against Jon Jones in the UFC. The Gypsy King met with middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and former middleweight champion Alex Pereira during his Australia visit, which caught everyone off-guard.
Tyson Fury slammed Rogan for suggesting that Jones would defeat Fury in a hypothetical situation. The rant from Tyson Fury prompted a response from Jon Jones asking for a fight with the Gypsy King. Despite all the talks, Fury backed down and replied that he was not an MMA fighter and will only fight Jones in a boxing match. UFC President Dana White also chimed in and offered Tyson Fury a deal to fight in the UFC. While Tyson has often suggested that he won’t enter the octagon, he was seen meeting up with Alex Pereira in Australia.
Alex Pereira was training in Australia for his light heavyweight debut against Jan Blachowicz at UFC 291. During their meet, Tyson Fury took a picture with the former middleweight champion. Alex Pereira, listed as 6 feet 4 inches, was almost as big as Tyson Fury, who claims to be 6 feet 9 inches.
This sparked a debate amongst fans on the size of Alex Pereira. Many fans suggested that The Gypsy King is lying about his height or it had something to do with the camera angle. The whole Twitter lit up with discussions regarding the height and frame of both fighters.
