“British Boxing is in the mud” – Amir Khan’s hand-rubbing tribute to Mike Tyson sparks hilarious fan troll fest

The WBC champion Tyson Fury faced Francis Ngannou in a boxing match held in Riyadh on October 28th. The bout and Champions Gala dinner in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were marked by the presence of global celebrities. This included Cristiano Ronaldo, Conor McGregor, Ronaldo Nazario, Oleksandr Usyk, Kanye West, Oscar De La Hoya, Lennox Lewis, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, and others. Amongst them was also boxer Amir Khan.

Khan is a pro boxing champion and the youngest British Olympic Medalist. He also serves as the Middle East regional president for the WBC organization. As such, he could not hide his visible excitement at meeting boxing legend, Mike Tyson. In their fateful interaction, Khan kept rubbing the former heavyweight champion’s hand. This has generated quite a few hilarious fan reactions. One such reaction said:

When the World Boxing Council’s Board of Governors announced the launch of the WBC Middle East Boxing Council, they appointed Khan as its president. Khan hadn’t fought since July 2019, back then, when he easily defeated late replacement Billy Dib in Jeddah.

Despite a few minor controversies, Khan is an avid fan of the sport. Soon after being anointed president in 2020, he also introduced the brand new WBC Middle East belt.

Fans react to Amir Khan’s lingering hand-rubbing on Mike Tyson

The Riyadh season boxing bout was marked by many known celebrities and combat sports personalities. WBC Middle East president Amir Khan, and Mike Tyson, both were present. Khan rubbed shoulders with a lot of people, inclusive of rapper Eminem as well.

But his interaction with Tyson got a bit out of hand; or into it! By apparent measures, Khan was naturally mesmerized by the boxing legend and kept looking at his hand. But him rubbing the hand vigorously, has earned quite a few fan reactions.

Tyson was the youngest heavyweight champion in history. He also had 44 highlight knockouts under his belt, amongst his many wins. Despite being often overshadowed by a turbulent life, he still remains one of the best fighting legend there ever is.

Khan, accordingly, had a very warranted reaction for the boxer. While Tyson recited his experiences, Khan kept looking at his right hand, that delivered such winning knockouts. But the posture of it all did not vice well with fans; at least not as intended.

Tyson, a retired boxer and a former WBC, WBA and IBF world heavyweight champion, was in Ngannou’s corner as a coach. His old mentor Teddy Atlas also joined him during the last bit of training for Ngannou. They have been present throughout the pre-fight events, conference and Champion’s Gala dinner.
