The Ryan Garcia versus Gervonta Davis fight was one of the most highly anticipated fights of 2023. Both the undefeated young talents, two of the biggest names in the new generation, going at it at each other, in the grand sport of boxing.

It was a left punch to the liver that did the job. Gervonta Davis landed a well-placed body shot to the liver in the seventh round. Ryan Garcia took a few steps backward before taking a knee to cope with the pain of the shot.

The referee counted to ten but Garcia couldn’t recover from the pain quick enough to carry on and thus, the fight ended. This marked the first loss of Ryan Garcia’s professional career. Ryan Garcia now has a boxing record of 23-1 while Gervonta Davis continues his winning streak of 29 undefeated.

Like every time, without fail, all the boxing experts on the internet began critically analyzing Garcia’s mistakes and criticizing him and everything under the sun. But Garcia finds an unexpected supporter in the form of Andrew Tate. Being a fellow fighter, Tate completely understands the nuances of a fight and a loss.

Tate is a former four-time kickboxing world champion and thus highly qualified to comment on the subject. He forbade all of his followers from criticizing Garcia through a recent tweet. He wrote, Any twitter account I see mocking Ryan Garcia is getting blocked. Unless you’ve been in the ring yourself, you are not qualified to say a WORD. Always a coward who has so much to say from outside the gladiator pit. The worst types of people.”

McGregor attempted to cheer up Garcia and shared his wisdom with Garcia. He gave him advice for the rematch and said he wants to see Garcia back in the ring with Davis, this time with a no-rehydration clause. The rule stated that even though both competitors would weigh in at 136 pounds after cutting weight, they are not permitted to gain more than 10 pounds until the battle.

There was no surprise that McGregor supported Garcia, with Floyd Mayweather supporting Gervonta Davis on the other side. Conor McGregor faces Michael Chandler later this year. The two will feature as coaches on ESPN’s The Ultimate Fighter: #31.
