Anthony Joshua looks like he is back to his very best. Recently, Joshua won by a second-round knockout against former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou. Now, Joshua is eager to back get inside the ring. He further wishes to remain active as he awaits the winner of the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk fight. Saudi Arabia’s chairman of General Entertainment, Turki Alalshikh, had previously announced that the winner of the Joshua vs. Ngannou fight the undisputed heavyweight champion.
The fight between Usyk and Fury was postponed to May 18 after Fury sustained a cut above his eye during a sparring session. It was also announced that a rematch clause had been added to the contract. Hence, this means that Fury and Usyk will face each other twice irrespective of the result of the first fight. Subsequently, after AJ’s fight, Fury made several dismissive comments about both fighters. This prompted Joshua to say:

Joshua fired back at Fury and demanded that Ngannou be given respect and believed that he defeated Fury. Furthermore, during the interview with IFLTV, Joshua mentioned that he intends to stay active and fight again around June or July.
Joshua intends to fight the next undisputed heavyweight champion, but he will have to wait for the two fights between Fury and Usyk. Subsequently, Joshua might next fight Filip Hrgovic for the vacant IBF heavyweight title.
Eddie Hearn discusses Anthony Joshua’s next fight
AJ has without a doubt climbed back to the top of the heavyweight division after his last fight. He has been steamrolling towards becoming a three-time world champion and is close to achieving his goal. In addition, Matchboxing boxing and Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn recently shed light on AJ’s next potential fight.
As such, Hearn appeared on the YouTube channel of Matchroom Boxing and reflected on the recent success of Anthony Joshua. Now that AJ is very close to securing the undisputed title fight, Hearn stated that they are awaiting the first fight between Fury and Usyk. Furthermore, Hearn stated that Alalshikh might want Joshua to fight Fury if he defeats Usyk on May 18.
However, Hearn also stated that Tyson Fury might fight a rematch against Usyk right after their first fight. In this scenario, Joshua will fight Hrgovic for the vacant IBF title. Hence, Joshua’s next fight will be announced after May 18 and will be in June or July.
