The former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has taken some time away to recuperate after his stunning victory over Robert Helenius. Joshua will likely face former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder for his next bout. Furthermore, the fight could occur on the same date as the long-awaited undisputed heavyweight title unification showdown between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.


However, Joshua may have landed in hot water for the wrong reason. Recently, Joshua posted a video of himself riding an electric scooter in London despite it not being legal. The video sparked controversy because the 33-year-old boxing star may have broken the law. Regulations of Transport for London state that using e-scooters on public roads and in public places is prohibited. Furthermore, the regulations state that “It is still illegal to use privately owned e-scooters or other powered transporters on public roads.” (H/T- Tfl)

In the footage, Joshua appears to be heading towards Bethnal Green in East London with a friend. Later, he was spotted on an E-bike with a larger group trailing behind him. Joshua uploaded the video on his Instagram with the song “Vexed” as a passing car recorded the video. Furthermore, the boxer was accompanied by a friend before heading off to attend Clean Herts Community Day.

In the video, Joshua rode an Inokim electric scooter which cost about £856 to £2,400. However, although e-scooters can be purchased, they cannot be used on public roads, unless the user uses a rental trial.

Anthony Joshua achieved a knockout victory over Robert Helenius in the seventh round of their fight. Furthermore, this was Joshua’s second win in a row after two consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk.


In an interview after the fight, Anthony Joshua said something that made most fans in the crowd cringe and groan hearing him. Joshua said, ” Ah! My back! My back! Is there a doctor in here, my back’s gone! Cause I’m about to carry this heavyweight division to the top!“. Despite the joke, the crowd did not respond. Some stated that they did not respond due to the lackluster action in the first 18 minutes.


Joshua and Helenius played it safe and followed defense defense-first strategy. Nevertheless, Joshua secured a knockout and spared the crowd from a boring 36 minutes of action.
