The Cameroonian star Francis Ngannou returns this weekend to face Anthony Joshua inside the squared circle. Ngannou earlier lost his boxing debut to the WBC champion Tyson Fury in a ten-round battle. Now, his opponent, Joshua, looked at his previous performance and deduced a game plan. As such, he doesn’t believe a knockout was on the table for him.

In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Anthony Joshua previewed his chances of knocking out Francis Ngannou. Looking into his career in MMA and boxing, AJ credited Ngannou’s durability. However, after studying the previous fight, he strategized a different game plan for his battle with the rising MMA boxing star. Here is what he said:

I’ve seen him. People have never put a dent in him. Don’t bank on putting a dent in him because you’re going to come up short, so find another way. That’s why I believe there’s so many ways to skin a cat. Has he lost before? Yeah. So there is a blueprint.

After Francis Nganou’s debut against Tyson Fury, many discredited his chances and called it a ‘Gimmick Fight.’ But Ngannou knocked down the WBC champion and shocked everyone. Although he lost to Fury, it was a controversial split decision. As such, Anthony Joshua remained serious about this matchup. He aims to stick to his path to victory and not go Hail Mary for a knockout.
