Francis Ngannou recently squared off with Tyson Fury and performed admirably. At the Riyadh Season opening ceremony, Ngannou came close to defeating the 34-0-1 lineal boxing heavyweight, Fury. Anthony Joshua has lauded Ngannou for his performance. Joshua’s manager, Eddie Hearn, had recently weighed in on a probable super fight between them to be comparatively easy for Joshua.

This was not the only time the boxing promoter has eyed Ngannou. After his outstanding performance against Tyson Fury, Ngannou gained a lot of attention in the boxing world. Now, speaking to Boxing on TNT Sports, Joshua has dissed on a “flob” Fury being almost knocked out. This is what he said:

I think Ngannou won… Bodybuilders up, dossers down. He just looked like a flat slob that can't fight. He said bodybuilders can't fight, but he got smacked up by one… Good luck to him, but he's gotta stop running his mouth because it does come back and bite you...

In a very recent sitdown with Laura Woods for TNT Sports, Joshua commended the transition of Ngannou to a boxer as an “inspiration.” Speaking to SkySports and EuroSports on a variety of occasions, Hearn had thus nudged that they were willing to book such a super fight. A few fans have reinforced the idea of such a battle.

Other fans have not, however, dismissed Fury altogether. They do consider “superhuman” Ngannou better, though. Ngannou had wished to fight this December, seeking out new ventures in MMA and boxing. He has also expressed keen interest in Joshua and his current boxing rival, Deontay Wilder.
