Claressa Shields is the current IBF, WBA, WBC, and WBO women’s world middleweight boxing champion. The self-proclaimed GWOAT is also well known for actively pursuing an inter-gender boxing match with male boxers like Keith Thruman. However, Sheilds has been bombarded with criticism after a video of her getting knocked down was leaked. Subsequently, Sheilds has now threatened to sue fans or any network for defamation for posting the video.
This started when Shields commented about how she came across a cheating boxer who dropped her during a sparring session. Subsequently, her ex-sparring partner, Artur Ahmetovs, who has a record of 6-1-0, leaked a clip of her getting dropped. The video went viral, and Shields has claimed that Ahmetovs and his coach removed the padding from his gloves.
Regardless, the video continues to go viral, and now Shields has threatened to take legal action about it. Furthermore, Claressa Shields stated:
Anybody or network post that sparring video from 5 years ago getting blocked and a defamation of character letter.Claressa Shields via Instagram
Furthermore, Shields asserted that she was knocked down by a cheater with no padding in his gloves. Subsequently, Shields stated that she had two sparring sessions with Ahmetovs, and during their first session, she humiliated him inside the ring.
Hence, Shields claims that Ahmetovs and his coach took out the padding in his gloves to get back at her. However, Ahmetovs and his coach have stated that Shields kept trash-talking, which led Ahmetovs to knock her down.
Claressa Shields threatens Rolly Romero for disrespecting her
Shields went live on Instagram and went on an all-out attack after a video of her being knocked out in a sparring session went viral on social media. Furthermore, Shields ranted, which mainly consisted of her explaining the context of the five-year-old sparring video.
Subsequently, Shields accused Ahmetovs of chasing clout by uploading the video five years later and stated that he cheated. While most of her rant was about Ahmetovs and his coach, she briefly spoke about Rolly Romero. Romero messaged Shields after the video went viral, which further triggered her, and Shields warned Romero to be careful.
Furthermore, Shields stated that she would punch Romero in the face the next time she saw him. Subsequently, Shields stated that Romero better bow down to her and be respectful; otherwise, be ready to duke it out with her.
