“Tyson Fury is going to wait to see”- Bob Arum offers his candid take on the Gypsy King’s return to boxing
Bob Arum- Tyson Fury
Tyson Fury has recently announced his retirement after his fight against Dillian Whyte. Dillian Whyte and Tyson Fury fought each other for the WBC title held by Tyson Fury on 23rd April. The fight was a one-sided performance by Tyson Fury, who dominated Dillian Whyte throughout the fight.
Tyson successfully managed to knockout Dillian in the 6th round of the match and won the fight Via technical knockout. After the fight Tyson announced his retirement from professional boxing but showed interest in fighting the UFC heavyweight champ Francis Ngannou. However, no fight has been decided yet and Tyson has still not vacated his titles. It is still speculated that the heavyweight boxing champ will return to fight again, but Tyson has denied these claims.
Despite his claims of retirement, it seems Tyson could make a comeback depending on the result of Anthony Joshua’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. Tyson’s promoter, Bob Arum, has claimed that Tyson’s decision is depending upon the fight between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk. Both fighters are repotted to fight on July 23. However, no confirmation has been given yet .
Talking with Fight Hype, Bob told: “I think Tyson Fury is going to wait to see how the Anthony Joshua fight comes out with Oleksandr Usyk, then make a determination whether he wants to continue, other than fighting the winner of Usyk vs Joshua, there’s nothing really of interest to Fury.”
“Yes training daily”- Tyson Fury denies claim about returning to ring after retirement
Since Tyson announced his retirement, he has been enjoying his vacation with his family in France. The fighter earned a staggering $33.6 million in his fight against Dillian Whyte, and the heavyweight champ is enjoying his hard-earned money. However, Tyson uploaded a video on his social media, shadow boxing in France.
Tyson’s father has claimed that his son will return to the ring and he cannot stay away from boxing. Claims of Tyson returning are emerging everywhere, but it seems Tyson is staying firm in his decision. Tyson, in his recent Instagram story, talked about him still training despite retiring from the sports. Tyson claimed he is still training to stay healthy not to prepare for a fight. In his recent story Tyson posted: “Yes training daily, but just to keep my weight down and for my mental health.”
It seems Tyson will stay retired even after many suggest otherwise and the fighter is sure about his decision. However, the future will tell us whether Tyson will return to the ring or has he finally put his gloves down.
