Since defeating Errol Spence Jr. last month, Terence Crawford has confirmed interest in fighting high-profile boxers. Crawford’s fame skyrocketed after becoming the world’s finest welterweight with his dominant display against Spence Jr. Canelo Alvarez became a target of Terence Crawford to test himself against the mighty Mexican boxer. Though on September 30, the Mexican boxing star will meet Jermell Charlo in the ring. But there is also a possibility that he could be facing Crawford in the near future.

Recently, Bud’s desire to fight Canelo was well-received by the fans. Alvarez made a comment about the potential Catchweight bout between the pound-for-pound fighters with FightHub TV. “Everybody’s gonna say, ‘He’s too small’ Nobody is going to give me credit for that,” said Canelo. A potential bout will have to be at a catchweight where Canelo will move down in weight and Crawford will move up in weight.

Canelo indirectly stated that he would not get credit for defeating a boxer from a lower-weight class. He justified not wanting to drop down to 160 lbs and fight in the catchweight division. Instead, Canelo will fight Bud at his own weight class of 168 lbs. It is unlikely that Crawford would accept that term to fight the legendary Mexican boxer.

Crawford, in his most recent fight with Spence, weighed 146.8 lbs. In contrast, in his last bout with John Ryder, Alvarez weighed 167.5 lbs.’ respectfully.  At the moment, both fighters have expressed in fighting each other. However, they will refrain from doing so until they can agree on the weight class.

Currently, Crawford is interested in moving up to 154 lbs from his current weight, which is 146.8 lbs. He expressed his desire to do this for a match with Jermell Charlo. Bud had issues with Charlo due to Charlo’s support of Spence Jr. Bud stated that, at times, Charlo acted like Spence’s fiancee.

In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Jermell responded to the challenge. He stated that he will fight Crawford at 154 lbs or any other weight. Furthermore, Charlo is scheduled to fight against Alvarez on 30th September and is moving up his weight for that fight.

Charlo stated that regardless of the match’s outcome with Alvarez, he is willing to drop his weight to fight with Crawford next. He said it is what the world wanted to see, and it is who he wants to fight next. Charlo vs. Crawford would interest a lot of fans due to their hatred toward each other.
