Terence Crawford is one of the best current active pound-for-pound boxers in the sport. Furthermore, Terence Crawford has held multiple world championships in various weight classes, showcasing his versatility and skill in the ring. Subsequently, Crawford has an impressive undefeated professional boxing record, with 40 wins and 31 of those wins via knockout.
Hence, it is common for Crawford to get challenges from the world of boxing, but recently he received a challenge from the former NFL player Chad Johnson. This transpired when Johnson was at a boxing gym with the professional boxer Shakur Stevenson and asked him to Facetime Crawford. Subsequently, John started confidently rambling about how he could beat Crawford in a sparring match.

Stevenson started to laugh at Johnson for his claims and video-called Crawford and told him about Johnson’s challenge. Johnson then began to playfully taunt Crawford, who responded that he would be there tomorrow.
Furthermore, Johnson continued his playful banter and stated that he has his Vaseline ready for sparring sessions for any cuts. Subsequently, Crawford stated that he just beat up a lot of guys, and that’s why he is sweating. However, Johnson wittily replied that he did the same but was not sweating at all, unlike Crawford.
Johnson is a retired NFL player but has some experience with boxing and has trained with the Charlo brothers. Furthermore, in 2021, Johnson fought an exhibition match against Brian Maxwell at the Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul main card.
Terence Crawford’s rematch with Errol Spence cost him his IBF title
Crawford fought Errol Spence at the end of July on PPV. Both fighters went into the fight as undefeated champions. Unfortunately, the fight was anything but competitive because Crawford was able to dominate Spence throughout the fight.

Crawford knocked Spence Jr. down multiple times before winning by a ninth-round KO. Despite the mismatch, Spence activated the rematch clause in his contract. Furthermore, the fight has not been scheduled yet but is expected to take place in early 2024.
However, Crawford lost his IBF belt because of the rematch because he wouldn’t be able to appear for a mandatory title defense.
At the end of August, the governing body gave the former IBF welterweight champion the green light to take on Jaron Ennis, who has held the IBF interim interim welterweight championship since January. As a result of the rematch clause activated between Crawford and Spence Jr., Crawford is legally obligated to fight him.
