There has been a lot of talk about Mike Tyson and Jake Paul since the fight was announced. While there is no doubt that Tyson is one of the best heavyweight boxers of all time, he is also 57 years old. In addition, Tyson retired from boxing in 2005 and did not return to the ring until 2020 when he had an exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr. Naturally, there were questions regarding his health against such a young opponent. Amid all these questions, his coach Rafael Cordeiro has made it clear that he doesn’t have any concerns.

Several people, like Dana White and Eddie Hearn, have stated that Paul and Tyson have a 30-year age gap, which makes the fight strange. Furthermore, Colby Convinton recently expressed his concerns about Tyson potentially suffering brain damage. This led Tyson’s coach, Cordeiro, who is mostly seen in Tyson’s explosive training video, to address these concerns.

It’s not something new for Mike, and this fight is no different. He works hard every single day to go in there and try to knock Jake out from the beginning to the end.

In an interview with The MMA Hour, Cordeiro said that people don’t need to worry about Tyson. The world-renowned coach explained that Tyson is a legendary boxer, and he’s faced the best of the best in his time. As such, he expressed confidence in Iron Mike’s ability to thwart any opponent and come out safely even at this age.

According to Tyson’s trainer, ‘Iron Mike’ is going into this fight with the same mentality he had when he was in his prime. Cordeiro added that Tyson will try to KO Paul from the get-go and won’t give up until the end.

Joe Rogan once reacted to Jake Paul wanting to fight Mike Tyson

Paul has been trying to get into this fight with Tyson for years. That’s why Joe Rogan reacted to the news on an episode of his JRE podcast last year. The guest that night was Rick Flair. In the episode, Rogan talked about how Paul had grown into a great boxer despite being a YouTube star.

After Rogan mentioned Paul’s improvement, Flair informed Rogan of Paul’s intention to fight Tyson. This came as a surprise to Rogan. As such, Rogan stated that even at his age, Tyson is a beast, and he trains every day. Hence, Rogan put faith in the legendary boxer’s famous punching power.

Rogan also talked about how Tyson trains regularly with the famous MMA trainer Cordeiro. In addition, Rogan mentioned that Cordeiro looked impressed when Tyson hit the boxing mitts during training.
