Conor McGregor wishes Katie Taylor ahead of Amanda Serrano fight
Katie Taylor has one of the biggest names in combat sports, Conor McGregor wishing her all the luck leading up to the biggest fight of her career against Amanda Serrano.
Katie Taylor is all set to face Amanda Serrano at the Madison Square Garden this weekend in what has been described as the “biggest women’s fight of all time”. The Irish undisputed lightweight champion will face the WBC and WBO featherweight queen, Amanda at the Meccah of boxing, Madison Square Garden. The WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight titles are on the line for this historic bout.
The fighter originating from Ireland has the support of the Irish superstar, Conor McGregor as he tweets out his support ahead of the boxing match. “Let’s go tonight, @KatieTaylor! Making history once again, this time in the famed Madison Square Garden! With you all the way champ,” wrote Conor in one of his tweets.
Taylor has previously faced a member of the Serrano family in the boxing ring as she took on Cindy Serrano in October 2018 and defeated her by unanimous decision. Serrano and Katie will be taking each other on in a 12, three-minute round fight rather than the traditional 10 two-minute rounds. The fight is promoted by Jake Paul’s ‘Most Valuable Promotions’, and Eddie Hearn’s ‘Match Room Boxing’.

Conor has never shied away from supporting homegrown talents from his country of Ireland. The fighter has been seen in many of his countrymen’s important fights including that of Katie’s. Conor was present at the fight between Katie and Cindy Serrano where the Irishwoman defeated the Puerto Rican via unanimous decision to defend her WBA and IBF titles.
Not only did Conor support Katie from ringside but also met with the legendary boxer backstage after the fight and gave a very motivating speech. “No, thank you. It is an honor to see you live. Big respect Katie, honestly…You put all of us to shame. You are a special talent,” said Conor talking to Katie and her team after the victory at Boston.
