Cris Cyborg on Holly Holm
Holly Holm is among the pioneers of MMA and is also among the greatest female combat athlete ever. Holly was inducted into the international Boxing hall of fame on Sunday and MMA fighter Cris Cyborg has congratulated her for such an amazing achievement. Holm is known for her exceptional career in MMA, but her career in boxing was equally amazing and she won the WBC and WBA world welterweight title during her career.
Holm had a professional career record of 33 wins and 2 losses and is among the best welterweight fighters of all time. Holy was also awarded the fighter of the year award twice by the Ring magazine in the year 2005 and 2006. With such an amazing career, Holm was inducted into the IBHOF on Sunday along with fighters like Floyd Mayweather, Wladimir Klitschko and Roy Jones Jr.
After her induction, Holm’s former opponent, Cris Cyborg, congratulated Holly for such an amazing feat. Cris congratulated Holly through her twitter account and mention that her legacy is long lasting. Holm retired from boxing in 2013 to focus on MMA and her achievement in MMA is known to all. Holm also fought Cris Cyborg during her MMA career but lost the fight via a unanimous decision. Holly had a professional MMA record of 14 wins and 6 losses.

Boxing hall of fame was conducted by International boxing hall of fame over the last weekend at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, New York. IBHOF is among the two recognised hall of fame in the world and was started as an initiative to honour boxers and other personalities who contributed to the sport.
IBHOF is conducted every year since 1990 but was cancelled in the year 2020 and 2021 because of covid restriction. This year’s event inducted 3 classes of Hall of Famers and was attended by boxers and many Hollywood celebrities. Holly Holm was a part of a class of 2022 and during her induction speech, she thanked her team, along with her coach Mike Winklejohn, for helping her achieve so much in combat sports.
Holm, during her speech, thanked her parents along with her brothers and stated she is blessed to have people that took care of her throughout her boxing journey. She said: “You want to talk about loyalty? That’s as deep as you can get. I’m so thankful. I don’t feel like this award is just for me. It’s a group effort, especially being a female. I know I wouldn’t have these opportunities without Lenny Fresquez… And my coach, Mike Winklejohn. No matter what I did, he believed, and it was from the get-go.”
