Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua were finally on the path to meeting each other inside the ring. It was widely believed that Joshua would defeat Otto Wallin and Wilder would defeat Joseph Parker. Unfortunately, AJ managed to secure a stunning knockout victory, but Wilder fell short. As such, The Bronze Bomber ended up delivering the most disappointing performance of his career. Wilder’s trainer has now blamed the loss on a psychedelic drug called ayahuasca.
It is a medical and spiritual brew that is widely believed to cause spiritual awakening according to the indigenous cultures of America. Hence, it is a mind-altering substance that helps people be at ease with themselves mentally, physically, and spiritually. Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott believes that ayahuasca neutralized Wilder’s killer instinct, which he is typically known for.
It made him a bit content and made him have an understanding of the smaller and softer things in life. And if you're in that type of space then violence is not a top priority.Malik Scott via Instant Casinos

Furthermore, Wilder’s trainer stated that the boxer has always been a killer inside the ring, and his record speaks for itself. However, Scott believes that the Wilder who fought against Parker was a completely different version of him. Wilder was quite calm and respectful during the buildup of this fight and appeared to be a changed man.
As such, Scott’s statement seems true, but it is still an excuse for losing. Furthermore, Wilder had himself spoken about the substance and mentioned how it changed his life. In addition, The Bronze Bomber stated that he planned on using the substance again after the fight and probably assumed at the time that he would win.
Deontay Wilder’s trainer talks about fighting Zhilei Zhang
Wilder is currently expected to return to the ring against Zhilei Zhang next. Both of them lost their last fight against Joseph Parker. Hence, this fight makes sense for both fighters and their careers. Furthermore, Scott believes that the Wilder who fought Parker will not return to fight Zhang.

Wilder’s trainer revealed that the boxer has already returned to training. After his losses against Tyson Fury and Parker, he knows that his career is in a desperate situation. Hence, the former heavyweight champion is gearing up for his redemption.
Scott also spoke about how Zhang is a perfect opponent for The Bronze Bomber and acknowledged the threat he poses. However, Scott believes that this threat is good since it prompts Deontay Wilder to be vigilant about the fight.
