Influencer-boxer KSI lost part of his appeal to overturn the result of his fight with Tommy Fury. When boxer Fury managed to end Jake Paul‘s winning streak, the prominent consensus was that they would square off again soon. But instead, he chose KSI for a boxing bout. The said matchup took place on Oct.14, along with the grudge match of Dillon Danis vs. Logan Paul. KSI remained convinced of outdoing Paul’s efforts and defeating Fury.

But the latter walked away with a decision win. The victor, Tommy Fury had walked away with a decision win at their boxing bout. Many fans and neutral spectators, and also fans of KSI, naturally were uprooted in disbelief. Hence, the influencer appealed for an amendment. But as of the latest, the Professional Boxing Association (PBA) rejected the preliminary appeal. However, KSI’s manager Mams Taylor has cued on that they would continue the fight. He said:

We will now move to the second of three possible stages of the appeal, as we continue to fight to have the decision of the bout rightly overturned.

The boxing bout between the two was part of DAZN Boxinf Misfits Prime, Series 10. The official scorecard itself saw some controversy around it. The YouTube star had proclaimed “of being robbed”, on the matter. With many fans backing the claim, he had naturally opted for an appeal.

But taking to X, the official statement read: 

The PBA confirms that an independent review panel, consisting of two of the country’s leading King's Counsel and a third lawyer, has determined that there are no grounds to overturn the @KSI vs @tommytntfury fight result from October 14, 2023.

KSI cues in ‘next steps’ to overturn Tommy Fury skid

The PBA regulates all official matters of combative sports, in the United Kingdom. KSI and his team have hinted at moving on to the next phase of appeal, since then.

The match itself was a very controversial one. Fury took the win on the judges’ scorecards despite a point deduction for punching KSI in the back of the head in the second round. Two judges scored the fight 57-56 for Fury, while Rafael Ramos had it 57-57.

Ramos’ scorecard later reflected an error. Backed by fans, the influencer thus opted for a change. Previously, speaking on the matter, KSI had said:

The amount of times he hit me in the back of the head. So many times. And the referee only took one point? He kept doing it over and over...I'm sorry, it's outrageous. We're going to appeal, I want to appeal. I felt like I won that.

The PBA, consisting of an independent panel of counsel, recently declared that there was no substantial ground for an overturn. However, KSI might defer from this viewpoint. In the upcoming days, the influencer-turned-boxer might still be seeing invoking these finer details, The team has reportedly decided to move on to the next phase of the appeal.
