Bill Haney is more than just a coach, advisor, or manager for his son. Furthermore, he’s a pillar of the Haney family, playing an important role. Bill promotes upcoming fights and negotiates with potential opponents. Hence, he’s greatly supported Devin Haney‘s career, helping him grow and develop. Subsequently, after Ryan Garcia called Bill a pimp, Devin decided to fire back at him on social media.
Recently, Garcia talked with DAZN where he spoke about his upcoming title fight on April 20. During the interview, the interviewer brought up Garcia’s comments about Haney’s father being a pimp and pimping his son. Subsequently, Ryan Garcia reaffirmed his stance by stating how Bill controlled Devin’s entire career like a pimp. Hence, Garcia maintained his stance about Bill being a pimp who controls Devin the way a pimp controls a girl. In response, this is what Devin Haney wrote:
Ryan do coke.. n real life these are facts..Devin Haney via X
Devin did not take Garcia’s words on a lighthearted note because they almost got into a physical altercation when Garcia said this. In addition, now that Garcia has maintained his stance about his status, Devin decided to fire back by claiming that Garcia used cocaine.
Furthermore, Haney made this statement since Garcia was visibly shaking, and his tone while speaking in the interview was very different. It could be that Garcia was tired after a long day, but it was a disturbing comment since Garcia’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, was infamous for his cocaine use.
