Devin Haney the 22-year-old American boxer, who is undefeated in his professional boxing career, has been making a lot of headlines lately. Haney is well-known for his tactical skills and professionalism, but this time around he has shown quite a different side. Subsequently, Haney has engaged in several heated social media exchanges with fellow American boxer, 26-year-old Gervonta Davis.

Haney and Davis have had a lot in common throughout their careers and remain undefeated in their professional boxing careers. Furthermore, they are the same age and were in the same weight class for a long time. However, they have never fought inside the ring, which has resulted in a lot of back and forth between the two.

Subsequently, Haney’s recent comments about Davis on Twitter are causing quite a stir in the boxing world. Devin Haney stated:

Haney’s public outburst was a departure from his usual cordial and professional demeanor. He made his point on social media, using harsh words that reflect his current feelings toward Davis. The boxing world is no stranger to these sorts of conflicts, and while it may be unorthodox for Haney to act this way, it shows how serious he is about facing Davis in the ring.

Furthermore, in several other tweets, Haney expressed how he always struggled to make weight at 135lbs. Subsequently, Haney mentioned that he has always tried to fight Davis but now does not plan on returning to the 135th division. However, Haney maintains that he is ready to fight Davis but Davis is not willing to fight him.

Bill Haney’s words to Regis Prograis’ son

Haney’s father, Bill Haney, gave Regis Prograis’ son some words of encouragement after Haney defeated Prograis. Furthermore, Bill was a key part of his son’s success, coaching him to another world championship victory at 140 pounds.

Subsequently, Haney dominated Prograis, a New Orleans native, to take the WBC’s super lightweight championship. The 12-round fight ended with all three judges scoring the fight in Haney’s favor by 120-107. In addition, after the fight, Bill was spotted giving some comforting and encouraging words to Prograis’ son in the ring.

Bill told Prograis’ son that his father is a tough guy and that he should be proud of his father. Furthermore, Bill told Prograis’ son to carry on the legacy since he is the big dog. This brief and wholesome exchange showed a different side of Bill after all the dust had settled after the fight.
