“Read between the lines,” Devin Haney trolls ‘clown’ Ryan Garcia who calls out Gervonta Davis for the next fight

While Ryan Garcia has a lot to prove as he took more than a year layoff on the peak of his hype train back not long ago, his fellow competitor Devin Haney looks forward to giving Garcia a hard time in the fight business of boxing. Haney, who is the undisputed lightweight champion of the world and the first-ever undisputed champion in over 3 decades, last fought for the unified lightweight championship against the previously undefeated Australian world champion George Kambosos Jr.

Haney smoothly outclasses Kambosos Jr with his perfect game plan and won the fight via unanimous decision. Garcia on the other hand returned to the boxing ring back in April after a nearly a year and a half layoff as a result of multiple physical and mental challenges throughout 2021 and the earlier part of 2022. Regardless, Garcia stays undefeated as he returned with a spectacular unanimous decision win over Emmanuel Tagoe.

Garcia however, has strong aspirations to one day fight fellow undefeated boxer Gervonta Davis with whom Garcia had been on a back and forth through media appearences and on Twitter mutliple times. As for now, Garcia is looking forward to July 16, 2022, to fight Javier Fortuna.

Devin Haney not fond of Ryan Garcia’s callout tactics

During a pre-fight press conference for the Fortuna fight, Garcia told that that he will be definitely going after Davis once he wins this fight which he is highly confident of winning. This was recorded in a video uploaded by Golden Boy Promotions.

Also in one of the cases recently as covered by boxing’s sports journalist Michael Benson, Garcia says “I don’t wanna look past Javier Fortuna, but that’s all I want, that’s all I see. I don’t care about nobody else right now. I don’t wanna hear nobody else’s name. I don’t care about that, I care about Gervonta Davis, bring it on, that’s who I want.”

Devin Haney quoted Golden Boy Promotions’ aforementioned video clip starring Garcia and said “This clown uses other fighters to sell his fight… then fights no one! Read between the lines”
