Fights and social media disputes between fighters are nothing new in combat sports. Amid all the talk of a possible match between Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney, the trash-talking never stops. Subsequently, Davis even involved Haney’s father but later deleted the tweets after a back-and-forth. Similarly, Haney’s father, Bill Haney, recently aimed at Davis and his new Muslim name on his social media.
‘The Dream’ recently took to Instagram to share several images of his recent trip to zoos or wildlife parks. In addition, Haney and his father interacted with and fed animals such as bears, monkeys, and more. On the same trip, Haney’s dad fired a shot at Davis and referred to a monkey as Abdul Wahid. The name is the new Muslim name that Gervonta Davis received after he converted to Islam. Furthermore, Haney’s father uploaded a story on his Instagram with the caption:

Subsequently, Haney’s father called out the monkey by saying Davis’ new name. The name means ‘servant of the One.’ The video was a sly dig at Davis, whom Bill has called a little monkey several times. Furthermore, Bill’s caption in the Instagram story referenced how Davis has avoided engaging in talks about a fight.
Haney and Davis have achieved similar stardom and had several sparring sessions. Furthermore, they have called each other out for years and are rivals yet to meet inside the ring. Subsequently, since Davis has not engaged in any talk, Haney appears to be negotiating a fight with Ryan Garcia.
Fans react to Bill Haney’s controversial remark
Haney, a rising star in the boxing world, has recently found himself at the center of controversy. But this time, it’s not his athletic prowess making headlines but rather a remark made by his father.
During their recent visit to the zoo, Bill uploaded a video of him calling a monkey by Davis’s Muslim name, Abdul Wahid. Furthermore, Haney and his father are practicing Muslims, so Bill’s comment was not intended to mock the religion of slam.
However, though Bill was solely targeting Davis without any religious connotation, he has now received backlash from fans. In addition, fans reacted by stating, “See he going to far bro wtf.” Check out some of the fan reactions:
