Logan Paul vs. Dillon Danis was the talk of the boxing world last month as the co-main event of the Prime Card. Fans have been clamoring for this matchup for months, and PPV sales continued to skyrocket. The co-main event brought more attention to the event because of the controversial rift between Danis and Paul.

Subsequently, despite their significant roles in one of the biggest boxing events of the year, they announced their retirement from fighting, one after the other. Danis has a professional MMA undefeated record of 2 victories via submission during his time in Bellator. Subsequently, he had not fought since 2019 and directly fought in 2023 during his professional debut against Paul.

The 30-year-old stated that he plans on signing with the UFC and does not care who he fights with. Subsequently, Dillon Danis mentioned that if the UFC doesn’t sign him, he will just retire from fighting and chill. He also stated that he had money prior to his bout with Paul and had earned a lot more now.

In addition, the MMA fighter stated that he isn’t interested in fighting for any other MMA promotion company if it isn’t the UFC. Hence, it can be concluded that Dillon Danis and the UFC were not able to come to an agreement about his contract.

Dillon Danis rejects the idea of fighting in Dana White’s Contender Series

In his first fight in over four years, Danis took on Paul in a ten-round boxing match on October 14. In the last round, ‘El Jefe’ tried to take advantage of his guillotine choke attempt and ended up getting disqualified. After his fight with Paul, Danis has been vocal about his interest in returning to MMA and signing with the UFC.

The 30-year-old has not shied away from expressing his desires, despite Dana White‘s lack of enthusiasm for giving him a chance. Subsequently, during a live interview on The MMA Hour hosted by Helwani, Danis was pressed on the possibility of fighting in White’s Contender Series or the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter to prove his worth to the UFC. However, Danis stated that he has no plans on doing that and would rather retire.
