Dimitry Bivol, shocked the world last weekend when he cruised to a decision victory, against Canelo Alvarez in their bout for the WBA Light- Heavyweight Championship. Though many expected Bivol to be a huge challenge for Canelo who was moving up in weight, no one might have the absolute ease with which Bivol dealt against a gifted boxer like Canelo. Pressuring Canelo, putting him on the ropes and landing multiple combinations on the elusive boxer, with many critics saying the scorecards do not accurately depict the fight.

Ever since he suffered his first loss in 9 years, Canelo has been hounded by trolls who were desperately looking to downplay his achievements. This came in the form of unnamed trolls declaring Canelo was never any good and established trolls like Jake Paul who said he could defeat the Boxer with three years of preparation as he was “2 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier” than Bivol.

Though many other boxers including women’s champion Claressa Shields gave credit to Canelo for taking risks and moving up weight classes to set his legacy in stone, the biggest and first account to defend Canelo’s honor came from Dimitri Bivol himself today, as he talked to the Dazn Boxing show.
