In the world of boxing and MMA, an unlikely friendship is blooming in the bright lights of Las Vegas. This is between Matchroom Boxing’s Chairman Eddie Hearn and UFC CEO Dana White. Subsequently, their relationship was further highlighted after Hearn visited the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas. The Performance Institute is an all-inclusive training facility that any UFC fighter can utilize at any time.
While the general public does not have access to the performance institute, fighters from different sports do. Eddie Hearn has been promoting his fighter Conor Benn‘s match against Peter Dobson, set to happen in Las Vegas. Hence, a week before the fight, White allowed them to use the facility in preparation for their upcoming fight. Furthermore, in an interview with iFL TV, Hearn stated:
The UFC is unbelievable. That is like a dream for me to have a facility like that for boxing on my team. It is unbelievable, like incredible.Eddie Hearn via iFL TV
Hence, Hearn praised the UFC for their amazing training facility and stated that it was his dream to have a similar facility for his team. Furthermore, Hearn personally thanked White for inviting him to the facility and for letting Benn and Dobson use it ahead of the fight.
In 2019, UFC CEO White invited Hearn to take a private tour of the same venue. Subsequently, it was a gesture that laid the groundwork for a bond that goes beyond the traditional boundaries of boxing and MMA.
