Eddie Hearn, a British sports promoter and the head of Matchroom Sport has suggested that the Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder fight might happen as early as next year.

One of the most anticipated boxing bouts in recent times has been the Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder fight. Finally, after years, it is expected that the fight might take place in the upcoming months. Recently, Matchroom Sport’s CEO, made it clear that the fight could take place in January or February of 2024.

He said: “It’s up to Saudi Arabia. I think it can, it could go to February. I don’t think there’s any issue with that month. But we’ve been told January, we’ve been told the date and we’re ready to go. “

According to Eddie Hearn, they already have a date in mind and are ready to make the fight but most of it depends on Saudi Arabia and their preparations for the fight  Joshua will now compete in a 12-round heavyweight match against Robert Helenius at the O2 Arena in London on the same day. After that, AJ will have to be ready to face the ‘Bronze Bomber’ in Saudi Arabia.

The rematch between Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte was supposed to take place in the squared circle on August 12, but it was postponed because Whyte failed a drug test during a VADA review.

As a late replacement, Robert Helenius stepped in and fans were hoping to see some fireworks in the fight. Recently, Helenius and Joshua were at the weigh-ins, and after stepping onto the scales, the situation between the two men rapidly became hostile as they stared each other down and had a verbal argument. “Either we’re gonna fight now or we’re gonna fight tomorrow, either way we’re gonna fight. Have you got a problem with me?,” AJ tried to warn his opponent.

However, the trash talk didn’t affect him at all; however, before leaving the event, Helenius told the media, “I’m here to upset.” Even if it’s not the fight that the fans were expecting initially, the hype around it has developed a lot since it got scheduled.
