Furthermore, both fighters were already in talks for a super fight in 2024, but Wilder’s loss has foiled those plans. As such, Hearn stated:

It was a kick in the n*ts. We signed a contract to fight Deontay Wilder. Which is irrelevant now, but we did sign. That fight was gonna get made. But boxing is boxing. And we've got to look for another opponent next.

In a recent interview, Hearn revealed that the fight between Parker and Wilder had thrown a wrench in their plans. Hearn described it as a “kick in the n*ts” for Joshua’s team since they were securing the super fight.

However, Hearn stated that such unpredictable outcomes are common in boxing, and they would have to reassert their options. Furthermore, while discussing some potential opponents for Joshua, Hearn mentioned Filip Hrgovic.
