The latest Misfits Boxing PPV featured the return of KSI in the boxing ring. However, fans questioned the fight decision after KSI illegally knocked out Joe Fournier.

British YouTuber KSI fought businessman-turner boxer Joe Fournier at the latest Misfit Boxing event. Fournier had actual boxing experience, unlike the other opponents that KSI fought. The exhibition bout ended in a knockout victory for KSI in the second round. The knockout sequence did not sit well with boxing fans as they felt KSI hit Fournier with an illegal strike.

KSI started the fight in a dominant fashion. He used jabs and an overhand right to trouble his opponent. In the second round, KSI and Joe Fournier exchanged strikes, back and forth. KSI landed a clean overhand right to stun Fournier. He moved forward and knocked out Fournier in the ensuing sequence. KSI stunned everyone in the building with a devastating knockout. However, it was not a legal strike.

In reality, KSI hit Fournier with his right elbow that landed squarely on Fournier’s chin. Fournier dropped to the ground, and the referee stopped the fight. The YouTuber celebrated victory and denied accusations of illegally elbowing his opponent in the post-fight press conference. Fans quickly called out the fighter on Twitter over the illegal move. In boxing, hitting the opponent with an elbow either leads to disqualification or a no-contest.

Despite the outrage over the controversial elbow, KSI emerged victorious. However, he is yet to accept it was illegal. Amidst the outrage from fans, the boxing commission is yet to reverse the fight result into a no-contest.

KSI knocked out his opponent Joe Fournier with an illegal right elbow strike. In the post-fight press conference, the YouTuber’s team and event promoters evaded the questions surrounding the illegal strike. Boxing fans did not let this go.

Joe Fournier is likely to appeal the decision. Usually, in boxing, these illegal knockouts will be deemed as no-contest upon a review. The state’s boxing commission should wisely reverse the decision to avoid further scrutiny from the fans.
