“Got ourselves a Tony Ferguson” – Fans react to Rolando Romero’s disoriented interview after devastating TKO by Isaac Cruz

Rolando Romero vs. Isaac Cruz ended with Cruz winning his first title after he secured Romero’s WBA lightweight title. Pitbull was able to deliver a dominant performance, and throughout the fight, he kept attacking Romero relentlessly. This was seen from the very first round when Cruz went straight for the kill by unloading a barrage of punches. Rolly was clearly damaged from this since his legs began to wobble as he attempted to maintain his distance from Cruz.
It almost appeared as if the fight would end in the first round via a knockout, but Romero was able to hang on to his life. After this, the beatdown continued for several rounds, and the fight eventually ended in the eighth. Rolly had predicted Cruz’s game plan for the fight while ridiculing him during the pre-fight press conference. However, this still didn’t help him fend off Cruz during their actual fight.
Furthermore, after the fight, Pitbull reflected on how he intended to end the fight via KO or TKO and was happy that he had accomplished his goal. Similarly, Romero also did a post-fight interview, but he wasn’t clearly ready for it. The damage he sustained during the fight became more apparent since he was disoriented and sluggish during the interview.
The interviewer asked Rolando Romero about what went wrong in the fight, but Rolly zoned out briefly and ignored the question. Subsequently, he instead thanked everyone for being there and wished them a happy Easter. In addition, he stated that he would be back the same way Jesus Christ was resurrected during Easter.

Romero’s trash-talking has again backfired on him and led to his second career loss after the first time being defeated by Gervonta Davis. Rolly believed that he would easily defeat Cruz and KO him, but the fight turned out to be different. Cruz had intended to make Rolly eat his words, and he accomplished what he wanted to.
However, even though Rolly survived until the eighth round, the damage that Cruz dealt was quite clear during the post-fight interview. Fans reacted to this, stating:

Fans trolled Romero by referring to him as Tony Ferguson, who is associated with brain damage from fighting. Some fans even believed that Romero wouldn’t remember this fight when he woke up the next morning. Furthermore, fans stated that Cruz gave Rolly CTE after this fight because of the massive blows he dealt.
