Despite all the bad name and the plague of Celebrity that Jake Paul has bought to boxing, one has to appreciate his dedication throughout the past few months promoting an important women’s title bout. He’s been at the press conferences, weigh-in, and other featured events spreading the word and generally receiving a warm welcome for it.
It was perhaps the cycle of repeating the same answers that Jake got used to, that led to him being flabbergasted once a fan asked a hilarious but blunt question. Addressing his question to the former influencer, the fan asked, “Does he suffer from imposter syndrome?” a question that put away the smiles on Jake Paul’s face and turned it into a look of visible confusion. Jake responded, “What is… Where is the question” prompting the fan to speak directly to Jake saying, “Do YOU suffer from imposter syndrome.”

After a short while, the undefeated celebrity boxer replied, “The answer is Negative Sir” a response that still didn’t suffice the fan’s inquisition. “You don’t understand the question”, said the fan at which point people in the arena could be heard saying “That’s a great question”. For those who don’t know, imposter syndrome can be summarized as “A persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a fraud” which some might say is the reason Jake Paul is yet to fight a boxer in his 5 fight boxing career.
A confused Jake mumbled, “I Don’t know what’s going on”. Eddie Hearn who was on stage and smiling since the ordeal started finally interjected saying, “Could be your next opponent to be fair” taking an obvious hit at Jake’s seemingly random criteria of choosing who he fights next. This however seemed to go over the influencer’s head as he replied with a confused, “We could run it Up”
Jake has been vulnerable to blunt questions making him freeze as was apparent during the whole press tour with Ben Askren. He is currently targeting a fight against retired UFC Champion Michael Bisping and a 56 Year Old Mike Tyson.
