After retiring from professional boxing, legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather continues to fight young boxers worldwide. He has fought YouTubers, amateur boxers, and former opponents. In 2022, Mayweather went to Japan to fight against a Japanese MMA fighter, Mikuru Asakura. Mayweather met up with former opponent Manny Pacquiao at the press conference.
The former opponents primarily embraced each other and sat beside each other at the press conference. Pacquiao then announced that he was there for his fighter Asakura. When asked about the fight, Floyd Mayweather said, “There is no blueprint to beating Floyd Mayweather, he could tell you that.” Mayweather constantly insulted Pacquiao during the conference.
Mayweather warned the fellow legend, “Don’t let them trick you into getting ass whooped again.” Manny Pacquiao jokingly replied to Mayweather by saying he is the younger boxer and has one of the most decorated careers. He also mentioned that humility is one of the most essential traits a championship boxer should have.
Their fight in 2015 was a huge financial success, generating over $500 million in revenue. The Mayweather-Pacquiao fight is one of the greatest fights in boxing history. It was the culmination of years of anticipation and hype and sparked enormous interest in boxing. The fight will go down in boxing history as one of the most significant.
