Floyd Mayweather shakes up Super Bowl weekend with John Gotti III rematch recalling police-intervened brawl
Floyd Mayweather to face John Gotti III, again, in a rematch of their infamous bout-brawl that rocked the combat sports world.

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather is to make his return to the ring, for a hyped unfinished business. The 50-0 pro-boxer squares off against John Gotti III, once again. The bout happens in Las Vegas, over Super Bowl weekend in February 2024. This is a rematch of their last bout, that ended in enormous chaos, erupting both in-ring and outside.
It was reported to TMZ Sports that the event would commence around Super Sunday (Feb. 11; Sin City). The fight would be headlined by 46-year-old Mayweather vs. 31-year-old Gotti III. The last fight saw referee Kenny Bayless putting a stop to the bout, with the fighter emulating an angry bull. As a result, a melee brawl followed, with Gotti charging at both sides of the camps. The last fight went on till the sixth round, at the FLA Live arena.

Taking to his Instagram account, on Friday, Mayweather wrote:

Gotti had two wins in boxing before his fight with Mayweather. This was after a skid in his first MMA bout for the New England regional promotion CES in Oct. 2020. Meanwhile, Mayweather last scored a stoppage against Conor McGregor, in 2017. He fought several exhibition bouts after his retirement.
Recently, TMZ Sports was also told of new stipulations for the rematch. Per the contractual basis, there would be clauses that would incur fines. This is to prevent any party involved from misbehaving.

Pro-Boxing legend and multi-billionaire Floyd Mayweather is stepping into the ring again. This time around, with none other than John Gotti III. Mayweather is one of the greatest boxers of modern times and has an undefeated streak like none. Gotti is the grandson of the legendary Gambino family crime boss. He is 5-1 MMA and 2-0 boxing.

Recently, Mayweather posted the announcement of the rematch on his Instagram account, along with unveiling the official set poster. The match, as the boxer had dubbed it, is being given the moniker of “unfinished business”. Mayweather’s Promotions fighters will anchor the rest of the fight card.
Promoted by Mayweather Promotions in association with Hidden Empire Films, the fight is a pay-per-view event airing on the Zeus Network. The exact date is yet to receive official status.
