Floyd Mayweather always seems to impress people, but this time, it’s not about his defensive ability but rather his finances. Just days before, the former pound-for-pound champion made headlines for spending more than a million dollars on a suite for a Super Bowl party. Subsequently, that wasn’t all, because now Floyd Mayweather has amazed fans with an even bigger financial splurge. Furthermore, this time, it’s not about a flashy purchase because the amount was for a $18,047,181 tax bill.
Mayweather posted a picture of his tax return on Instagram, and it caught everyone’s attention. In addition, after his fight with Manny Pacquiao in 2015, the boxer owed the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) $22 million in back taxes. However, now the IRS is a part of Mayweather’s well-known money flex on social media. Furthermore, Mayweather uploaded the photo with the caption,
Just before I paid that light million and change for that little Super Bowl stuff, I had to pay the IRS, aka Uncle Sam, $18,047,181.Floyd Mayweather via Instagram

The photo showed a check for $18,047,181 written out to the ‘Department of Treasury, IRS’ on February 2, 2024. In addition, Mayweather mentioned that this is the tax he has to pay as a retired boxer and teased how much he paid as an active athlete.
Subsequently, Mayweather’s tax payment flex is quite impressive considering it is the average earnings of several high-level athletes. Furthermore, Mayweather flexed his tax due and even brought up the $1 million he spent at the Super Bowl, referring to it as a ‘light million and change’.
Floyd Mayweather’s Superbowl suit expense
According to a recent report by TMZ, Mayweather spent an eye-watering 1.13 million dollars on a suite for himself and 34 other people to watch the Superbowl. This year’s NFL championship game will be held on February 11 at the new Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Further, the game will be between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL’s final regular-season game.

It’s no secret that ‘Money’ is one of the most decorated boxers in the sport’s history. Furthermore, he’s made it to the top of Forbes’ highest-paid athlete list every year he’s been in the sport. Hence, his wealth is no secret, and his most recent Instagram post is a testament to that.
As such, in a post on Instagram, Mayweather revealed that he had spent $1 million on renting a suite to host a Super Bowl party for 34 people. Subsequently, Mayweather called himself blessed for being able to do this.
