Floyd Mayweather frequently prides himself on being a ‘TBE’ rather than one of the goats in boxing. Mayweather justified this claim with his undefeated 50-0 record and massive earnings from the sport. Hence, without a doubt, Mayweather is one of the most accomplished and successful boxers in the sport. However, the American rapper and DJ Lord Jamar, also known as Lorenzo Dechalus, did not believe Mayweather was financially successful.
One of Mayweather’s defining characteristics remains his flamboyant lifestyle. This includes showing his watch collection, his sunglass collection, and other luxuries that Floyd Mayweather partakes in. During an appearance on Vlad TV, Lord Jamar spoke about Mayweather’s net worth and financial success. The host stated that Mayweather’s net worth was $280 million, with career earnings of $430 million. This is how Jamar responded:

Hence, Jamar stated that Mayweather might appear wealthy to the average population but was not rich amongst the wealthy class. To put this into perspective, Jamar mentioned that billionaires were the top 1%, not millionaires. Subsequently, Jamar stated that billionaires with actual money never have pictures of them holding money.
Jamar also remarked that people tend to portray what they don’t have and again highlighted that people with money behave differently. In addition, to prove his point, Jamar mentioned Tony Hsieh, who owned a shoe company, had only four pairs of shoes.
Jeff Mayweather defends his nephew Floyd Mayweather
The Manny Pacquiao vs. Mayweather rematch is an exciting topic for most boxing fans. Hence, it’s no surprise that the whole boxing world speculates on the possibility of this fight coming to fruition. However, a comment made by Pacquiao’s advisor has sent shockwaves through the boxing world.
Furthermore, Pacquiao’s advisor, Sean Gibson, stated that they were both fighters, but Mayweather’s condition had deteriorated. Subsequently, Jeff Mayweather, Mayweather’s uncle, responded to Gibson’s comments about Mayweather. Jeff stated that his nephew remained the same throughout his life and had never changed.
In addition, Jeff stated that he has never seen Mayweather drink or smoke. Hence, Jeff shot down Gobson’s claim that Mayweather’s physical condition has degenerated. Jeff also mentioned that Mayweather has always been hardworking and never stopped training, even after retiring. Only time will tell if a rematch ever happens.
