Francis Ngannou will make his boxing debut against Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia. The former UFC champion will make north of $8 million for the bout. Fans expressed their happiness towards the bout on social. However, one boxing personality and Dana White, expressed disdain towards the bout. He is none other than Eddie Hearn. Hearn made some comments about the bout before it was booked. However, Hearn’s claims turned out to be false.
Francis Ngannou went on the MMA Hour to criticize Hearn. He said, “How did Eddie Hearn know about this to know all the details? I don’t remember him being around the table talking on this fight. What I can say is he doesn’t know anything about it, and all the things he knows are what he has heard. I mean, that’s clear. He doesn’t know anything because it’s a real fight. It’s going to be a fight. The only difference is there’s not a title on the line, but it’s a real fight. It’s going on our record.”
It appears that Ngannou knew about the chirping behind the scenes. Hearn stated that the bout will have special rules that include no knockdowns. However, those rumors turned false after the bout got confirmed. Tyson Fury and Hearn have gone against each other with numerous insults over the years. However, no one expected Ngannou to go after Hearn.
In fact, Hearn has spoken highly of Ngannou on numerous occasions. He even entertained a bout between client Anthony Joshua and Ngannou. However, Joshua wants to fight Deontay Wilder, which leads to a postponement of any fight negotiation. If Ngannou could defeat Tyson Fury, Joshua or other top heavyweights could fight the former UFC champion.
Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou bout has a rematch clause
Saudi Arabia will host another big boxing clash in October. This time, it is a crossover between MMA’s scariest heavyweight and the undefeated boxing heavyweight champion. Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou will compete in a 10-round boxing bout.
However, Ngannou confirmed that the bout will have a rematch clause. The rematch clause makes it exciting, as no one expects Ngannou to pull off an upset. Fury remains the favorite to win the bout.
Fury has a history of introducing rematch clauses in the bouts to ensure a chance for revenge. It appears that Fury is taking boxing matches more seriously than most fans, as Ngannou has the power to knock Fury out.
