Canelo Alvarez rips Gennady Golovkin

This weekend, the boxing world will experience one of the most iconic and controversial rivalries in recent boxing history. Canelo Alvarez will take on Golovkin for the third time in his career and this time things are extremely different. The pair have known each other for some time and have spent a considerable amount of time beating each other inside the ring.

Since that fight, Gennady has fought four times and has won all the dominantly. The fighter is already a legend of the sport and has shown no sign of deterioration with his age. Instead, he is just getting better with time.

Ahead of their clash at the T-Mobile Arena, Gennady Golovkin in the press conference mentioned that he has evolved a lot as a boxer since the last time the pair fought. GGG confirmed that in the span of four years many things have changed in his life and he has gained a clear understanding of many things

“I’ve matured. I’ve become wiser. A lot of things have changed in life and in boxing. During that time, I learned to look at boxing and other situations with open eyes. Not follow the stories that some people tried to tell me,” said Gennady Golovkin.

GGG mentioned through these years he experienced COVID and that the whole situation taught him how to be more reserved and decisive. “A lot of things have changed. We’ve all lived through the pandemic. The pandemic taught us how to wait. How to be patient. We even learned how to lose in life,” said GGG.

“Boxing stayed the same. I have not thought about [if he waited for me to get old to fight for the third time]. If there were other reasons for him not to fight when we were supposed to have a fight, I think it’s best that you ask him,” added the fighter.

The trilogy fight is a whole new ball game and nobody cares that Alvarez has a win over GGG. Due to the Mexican’s last loss early this year, he is under a lot of pressure and this is definitely good news for Golovkin.
