Gervonta “Tank” Davis is one of the best active lightweight boxers. Tank made headway into amateur boxing with a record of 221–5. The undefeated pro-boxer has held the gold for IBF and WBA titles at super-featherweight. Transitioning to lightweight, he fought under the guidance of then-mentor Floyd Mayweather. Mayweather, who saw the potent boxer as a future millionaire, has commended him many a time.

Mayweather is a multi-millionaire. Channeling his inner ‘Mayweather,’ former protege Gervonta Davis recently followed suit. In a recent Instagram story, he uploaded a showcasing of bundles of sorted cash. The post in question sees a stack of cash piled up on the boxer’s bed. This is something Mayweather used to do in the past.

This was not the first time Davis had chosen to do so. After serving 44 days for violating the terms of his house arrest, Davis showcased bundles of cash after his release. Davis posted a selfie with obscene amounts of cash in tow.

Mentor Mayweather himself has displayed his riches, many times, taking to social media. Davis was also in the spotlight for flashing sums worth of thousands of dollars at rival Garcia, very recently. Though not under Mayweather Promotions’ wing, the duo’s relationship seems to have mended. This was evident when they appeared at the March 25 David BenavidezCaleb Plant fight at the MGM Grand Arena.

Devin Haney weighs in on possible fight with Gervonta Davis

Devin Haney said a boxing bout between him and Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis is the one he wanted. He had made many subsequent callouts to the boxer studded with 27 KO highlights. The 30-0 boxer himself called out to Davis, even when he was in jail. Now, he has simmered down on his interest on such a matchup but has not given up yet.

Haney had been deeply interested in the prospect of such a big matchup ever since holding all the gold at 135lbs. Shakur Stevenson had also called him out last May at the MGM Grand Garden Aren in Las Vegas after his questionable stint over Vasiliy Lomachenko. Many believed he was ducking the callout when in all actuality, he was more interested in Davis overall. Recently, he hinted at a possible return to lightweight if the conditions were right.

Recently, Haney also taunted rival Ryan Garcia for not selling out the arena against Oscar Duarte. Davis vs. Garcia was a successful event and Haney thought his fight against Davis could become even bigger.
