Devin Haney had some harsh words for his rival Gervonta Davis, and it looks like ‘The Dream’ is ready to book a mega-fight with Davis. Furthermore, Haney won last weekend’s WBC super-lightweight championship with a stunning victory over Regis Prograis. Subsequently, Haney left behind his former weight class and moved up to 140 pounds for this fight. Additionally, Haney achieved everything in the lightweight division and has moved on, but he is still aiming at fighting Davis.
Haney has again challenged Davis, who is the lightweight champion of the WBA, to a mega-fight at 140 pounds. Haney had also mentioned how he feels stronger and better at 140 pounds and is not having trouble making weight. Hence, Devin Haney wishes to stay in the 140-pound division and possibly move to another weight class in the future. Furthermore, after becoming a two-division champion Haney attacked Davis by stating that Davis is scared to fight. This prompted Davis to reply, and Davis stated:

After Haney called out Davis and hurled several insults at him, it triggered Davis, and he retaliated. However, after posting the tweet and getting a response from Haney, Davis deleted his tweet, which has been quoted above. This back-and-forth between the two boxers is not uncommon as they have been engaging in social media trash talk for years.
Furthermore, Haney simply responded, “Let’s make it happen. I’m free”, to Davis’ threat to make Haney’s father cry by hurting his son badly inside the ring. Subsequently, Davis responded by stating ‘say nothing’, which made it seem like they might proceed potentially with the fight but Haney has previously mentioned that Davis does not want to fight him.

Since both fighters have unbeaten records and are two of the most talented up-and-coming prospects in boxing, a Haney-Davis bout would be a worthy mega-fight. Furthermore, since both of them were in the same weight class, they had discussed a fight for a long time. However, this back and forth only continued for years and never led to an actual fight.
Furthermore, both have reignited their rivalry by calling out to each other on social media. Subsequently, while Davis fired back at Haney, he ended up deleting his tweet, which made fans react by stating, “Tank deleted his tweet?”
Fans expressed their enthusiasm about the megafight and discussed how big it would be for boxing. Furthermore, some fans predicted that Davis would delete the tweet and even trolled Davis for deleting the tweet. In addition, fans stated that the mega-fight would give a glimpse at the mega-fights that occurred during the golden age of boxing.
