Gervonta Davis is one of the most respected boxers in the lower-weight classes. After destroying Ryan Garcia, Davis established himself among the biggest stars in boxing. A recent interview with Complex introduced “Tank” to facts that got him thinking about his life choices.

Following his outstanding victory against Ryan Garcia in April earlier this year, Gervonta Davis cemented his status as a boxing great. Many other top contenders in the division look forward to fighting Davis shortly. The returning Shakur Stevenson and champion Devin Haney aim to hold an all-American boxing championship fight with Davis. Gervona “Tank” Davis seems welcoming to all such matchups, and the fans believe in the fighter’s abilities.

But the young fighter is still looking to learn the ropes in the boxing scene. He has often shown interest in learning fighting techniques from icons like Jon Jones. An interview with COMPLEX before the Ryan Garcia fight led Davis to learn about things he didn’t want to know as a boxer. The interviewer explained to Davis what some other fighters do before a fight is about to begin.

The interviewer claimed to know that Tyson Fury beat off seven times and Juan Marquez drank his pee before their fights. Like many fans, Gervonta Davis was shocked to hear such rumors and denied having such extreme rituals. The bottom line is, before any big event in a person’s life, although not necessarily extreme, it might help to have a few moments to yourself to gain focus and enter into a flow state.

Stephen A. Smith has made a name for himself among fight fans worldwide through his journalism over the years. He is pretty straightforward with his words and thoughts. Smith has had several dramatic stand-offs with fighters in the past. This time, the journalist criticized the current lightweight boxing champion, Devin Haney.

Stephen A. Smith was invited as Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin podcast guest. The fight between Haney and Lomachenko was discussed, and Smith had a few opinions. Stephen A Smith believes that the fight could have been a draw between Haney and Loma and that it was not one-sided.

Smith further spoke by advising Devin Haney to stay away from Gervonta Davis for his next fight. Stephen A. Smith, much like many boxing fans, believes that Haney gets hit too much. Considering Davis’ powerful punches could prove disastrous for Haney’s weak defensive skills.
