Jake Paul is on a quest to become a world boxing champion, but he’s ready to shift his focus to MMA when the PFL comes calling. At 7-1, Paul is to currently square off against Andre August in an eight-round cruiserweight bout. This happens on Dec. 15 at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando. The bout will be offered as part of the standard DAZN subscription and will headline MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects IV. Paul has, however, weighed in on previous longtime rival, Nate Diaz.
Jake Paul defeated Diaz by unanimous decision in a 10-round fight, last August. Last month, Diaz’s Real Fight Inc. released an official-looking poster for a December 15 boxing rematch with Paul, which Paul’s corner abruptly denied. Diaz, who is now a free agent, has squabbled with the boxer on rematches and subsequent paydays. Speaking to MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn. Paul said:
Pretty desperate, I guess. Wanting to make money but not actually wanting to make things happen. We’re ready, MMA, end of 2024, $10 million, which is more than he’s ever made for an MMA fight – ever. He’s sitting there asking for more money basically drunk tweeting random sh*t and random fight posters, making himself look like a fool...

Paul is ready to take it to Diaz in MMA. Although Paul would probably be a big underdog stepping into Diaz’s realm and spectrum of fight-style. He, however, cued in that the martial artist would not take that fight, to safeguard his reputation. The boxer said he would be ready to fall back to his “Ohio Wrestling roots”. But he fears Diaz would stagger from giving him a chance, and would keep upholding his prided reputation.
Usually, the boxer is keen on big sporting spectacles and crossover fights. With Diaz going back on the mutually agreed upon rematch, Paul shifts his focus. But, for his ninth outing as a professional boxer, he faces cruiserweight August.
Jake Paul claps back at haters’ criticism of his choice for next opponent
December will be his toughest test yet, boxer Jake Paul argues. Paul embarks on a hyped bout with cruiserweight Andre August. The bout headlines MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects IV. Paul, who is known for facing off against older martial artists, is on his ninth crossover venture now.
Fans of the sporting community have argued that this particular one is an impossible probability for the influencer-turned-boxer.

August is Paul’s most experienced opponent yet but lacks the name recognition of his previous bouts and challenges. These have included the likes of many boxers and martial artists from the UFC. In a recent tweet, Paul commended August and responded to those who have criticized the matchup.
August has five knockout wins to Paul’s four. Paul suffered his first loss earlier this year, a split decision to Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia. He rebounded with a 10-round win over Nate Diaz in August. Paul stopped the former UFC star in the 5th round by way of a unanimous victory.
