Jake Paul and Hasim Rahman Jr crossed paths, things became heated
Jake Paul and Hasim Rahman Jr
Jake Paul was supposed to finally resolve his long-running feud with Tommy Fury on August 6, but the former was forced to withdraw from the bout yet again after being denied admission into the United States. Despite both groups’ efforts to reach an agreement, it appears that we must all move on from this cancelled fight.
This fight was cancelled after Tommy withdrew from the first scheduled fight due to injury. Jake has now opted to withdraw from the battle and has an opponent lined up.
The Youtuber-turned-boxer stated that he will instead face Rahman Jr next month at Madison Square Garden, a fighter with whom he has already has had his run-ins with.
Recently the a footage of the two of them crossing paths go viral. During the video, an enraged Rahman Jr accuses Jake of “talking s***“, while threatening to knock him out. He can be even heard talking smack, saying “Who’s the b****?”
Jake Paul forces his new opponent to make a significant weight cut
Jake Paul is forcing Hasim Rahman Jr to cut weight in order to make their short-notice fight official. He will need to make the 200lb limit after stepping in as a last-minute replacement for his August 6 fight at Madison Square Garden.
Rahman, who most recently fought on April 29 against McKenzie Morrisson, will need to lose a significant amount of weight over the next month in order to meet the limit. He weighed 24lb more than he required to compete against the YouTube sensation. However, Rahman appears to have consented to a 200lb weight limit, which means he must start cutting as soon as possible.
Rahman Jr. is the son of former heavyweight world champion Hasim Rahman and has a 12-1 record, which puts him ahead of Paul’s recent opponents. As a result of his cancelled battle with Tommy Fury, he will now face a conventional boxer as his opponent.
