Jake Paul walked into his 10th pro boxing outing aspiring to win. He faced 17-3 journeyman, Ryan Bourland in Puerto Rico. While Bourland has more mettle as a pro boxer, it looked anything but. ‘The Problem Child‘ made quick work of the opponent, sealing the deal into the very first round. Bourland’s overwhelmed disposition, not even throwing back spam shots has irked fight fans. But who it bothers even more is veteran, Demetrious Johnson.

Johnson happens to be a longtime decorated flyweight champ. As such he now deliberates on all things MMA on his official YouTube channel. While speaking to Wade Plem of the W.A.D.E Concept, ‘Mighty Mouse’ has laid into Paul before as well.

This was on his prolonging feud with influencer-boxing peer KSI. Currently, here’s what he said in his “Instant Reaction” segment:

What are you doing when you’re fighting these guys that you find off the street? When he fought Andre August...that gentleman was running pizza routes, Go find somebody who’s 25-26 years old… that’s in the gym, that’s grinding, that’s hungry. Put yourself in the fire. Put yourself against top-level competition...
Demetrious Johnson said in his YouTube channel

Jake Paul last went up against the now 10-2-1 seasoned boxer, Andre August, winning via a devastating uppercut KO. This marks Paul’s second consecutive 1st-round stoppage which, however, did not impress Johnson. He alluded to the fact that before his bout, August was “running pizza routes.” Similarly, before the 8-round cruiserweight bout, streaming on DAZN, the former Golden Gloves champ was an alleged Uber driver.

At 25-4-1, the former fighter, Johnson is a decorated flyweight staple in the company’s history. He also happens to be #3 on MMA Junkie’s list of the 30 greatest UFC fighters of all time. He hence had some advice for the streaking pro boxer. He urged a case for Paul to fight younger and hungrier fighters like him. Just like Johnson, a lot of others have had similar reactions to the matter.

How did Jake Paul’s peers react to his 10th pro boxing win?

Influencer-turned-boxer, Jake Paul added another knockout to his record. Now 9-1 (6 KOs), he defeated an overmatched foe in Ryan Bourland. Paul overwhelmed Bourland from the start, fighting behind a sharp jab and landing brutal body shots. Connecting well with definitive strikes, he made quick work of the opponent.

On the road to becoming champion, Paul thus garnered many responses on the matter. Demetrious Johnson snubbed the gravity of his win. Others have had some quirky reactions to it as well.

Claressa Shields lauded the boxer on his spectacular first-round KO against Ryan Bourland and a promo before that. Along with his brother, Logan Paul, he had engaged in quite an interesting conversation with The MMA Hour‘s Ariel Helwani (for MMAFighting on SBN).

Paul also wore a warrior-esque side-split-trunk that caught many gazes.

Paul’s fellow PFL signing, Derek Brunson is the one who gibed the most at him. Brunson debuted at PFL 10 2023 in style with a victory over former two-time PFL champion, Ray Cooper III. Following this, he called out Jake Paul as the most interesting prospect.

His current sneers could be a clear way of him baiting a response out of Paul. Only time will tell if such a clash comes to take shape in the future.
