Kazuki Anaguchi, who fought in the undercard of Naoya Inoue vs Marlon Tapales PPV in Japan, tragically passed away. Anaguchi fought in the co-main event against Seiya Tsutsumi for the Japanese Boxing Commission super bantamweight title. In a blood and guts war, Anaguchi lost via unanimous decision. Anaguchi showed visible health issues after the end of the bout and had emergency surgery after he lost consciousness.

The 23-year-old suffered four knockdowns against Tsutsumi and never regained consciousness even after surgery. There have been several instances of boxers passing away after brutal boxing matches. The amount of damage sustained on the head throughout 12 rounds is the reason for the death. Boxing initially had a 15-round championship fight, but commissions reduced it to 12 due to health risks.

He passed away after four days and left his wife and son behind.
