The year 2023 ended on a sad note for the heavyweight boxer Jarell Miller. Miller started last year on a high after achieving a knockout victory against Lucas Browne in March. However, when the 35-year-old boxer entered the ring against Daniel Dubois, the latter emerged victorious in the 10-round heavyweight bout. Hence, Dubois managed to make a comeback at the end of the year to squash all doubts regarding his resilience caused by his loss against Oleksandr Usyk.
But off the boxing stage, Miller’s new year didn’t start well. Subsequently, the boxer has been arrested for car theft and assault during a break-in in Hollywood, Florida, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. Later, it became clear that, as of Wednesday night, Jarell Miller remained in custody in Fort Lauderdale under a $30,000 bond, according to a Miami TV station report.
WSVN-7 reported that Miller targeted a black Dodge Ram pickup at Haims Motors on Hollywood Boulevard. The truck had recently been returned to the dealership, but Miller, along with an unidentified female accomplice, made quick work of an employee. Furthermore, it’s interesting to note that the woman tricked the employee into thinking she’d forgotten her phone in the car.
Hence, this trick gave Miller the chance to strike, and they overpowered the employee and drove away with the vehicle. The car had a tracking device installed in it, which led directly to Miller’s arrest, and now prosecutors are calling it a premeditated attack. It’s also interesting to note that this incident comes after a major setback in his boxing career.

News of Miller getting arrested for alleged carjacking and burglary is going viral on social media. The news comes just days after Miller’s loss to Dubois. In the highly anticipated bout that took place on December 23rd, 2023, in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, ‘Big Baby’ was stopped in the 10th round by a TKO.
This isn’t the first time that Miller has gone through controversy in his career. Furthermore, before his fight with Anthony Joshua, Miller tested positive in a drug test, which led to his blood suspension. Subsequently, this new incident has further debased his professional reputation. Fans reacted by stating, “Bro got all that Saudi money from the fight, and he’s still stealing.”
Fans expressed their astonishment at the news since Miller is a professional fighter who fought in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, fans trolled Miller by stating that Dubois knocked the sense out of him. Subsequently, Miller’s future as a boxer appears to be in jeopardy amid these legal issues.
