In a recent podcast, Joe Rogan apologized to Tyson Fury because of the comments he made about him and Jon Jones. A few months prior to this, Joe Rogan claims to have had a few cocktails before a podcast which made him a bit loose. During the podcast, the topic of the “baddest man alive” came up.
Joe Rogan quite boldly stated that it would be Tyson Fury or Jon Johnes. Two respected figures from the world of boxing and MMA, who are known for their infamous reputation and performance in the sport. Furthermore, Joe said that “If Jon Jones and Tyson Fury were in a room, I’m pushing all my chips towards black” (H/T Joe Rogan)
This directly implied that Joe Rogan believes that he has no chance against Jon Jones if it boiled down to a brawl between the two. This heavily hurt T Fury’s ego as he responded to Joe Rogan, and talked shit about Joe while stating that he can drop anyone in a ring.
In his recent podcast, Joe admitted to being a bit tipsy that day, which made him say all that. “I was with Schulz. I think we had a couple of cocktails,” said Rogan. Joe apologized and said that he has nothing but love and respect for Tyson Fury and he considers him one of the best boxers who would be on par with prime Mike Tyson. Still, if it comes down to MMA match Fury would lose against Jon Jones, but if Tyson Fury had subsequent knowledge of MMA especially while growing up. Then indeed the odds would be in favor of Tyson Fury according to Joe.
Tyson Fury’s reaction to fighting Jon Jones
The discussion of who is the baddest man on the planet has been quite prevalent. Especially ever since Jon Jones came into the mainstream limelight. When asked about this Dana White also commented that, undoubtedly the baddest person on the planet would be Jon Jones and the only other person on par with him would only be Tyson Fury.
There also have been talks of Tyson Fury getting offered a contract from UFC to fight Jon Jones and he stated that he is interested to fight him. Especially since Fury has been struggling to find a worthy boxing opponent.
Furthermore, the social media beef between Jones and Fury has been quite back and forth as they kept calling out each other. Fury did state that he isn’t a cage fighter and would prefer to box with Jones. Similarly, Fury said that Jones is a good fighter but not a boxer and Jones would not stand a chance against him because he is “the best boxer” (H/T Tyson Fury).
