“Capable of being a 3-time champion”- John Fury believes Anthony Joshua possesses the ingredients to make a comeback once again

John Fury, father of Tyson Fury is a very prominent part of Tyson’s fights. So much so, that it wouldn’t unusual for him to have tussled with Tyson’s opponents. He has been extremely critical of Anthony Joshua and his competency as a boxer. After Joshua’s recent loss against Oleksandr Usyk John claimed that the fighter showed that he lacked “desire” and “will”.

He precisely stated “You’ve only got to look at Joshua’s body language after the fight, his behaviour on the stool. His behaviour, warriors don’t behave like that. He wasn’t making any emotions like he was discomforted, he wasn’t trying to do anything but soak it all in. Deontay Wilder fought his heart out, he had nothing left at all. I think he was teetering on being conscious when he was sat on his stool.”

Recently, prior to the Tyson fury vs Dillian Whyte, John was asked about Whether Anthony Joshua can make a comeback and beat Usyk in a rematch. To which he surprisingly stated, He’s capable of being a three-time champion, he’s got that about him. With the right people, I believe he can do it.

One is reasonable to wonder that after all those years of criticism, why John is now rooting for him to make a comeback. In the same interview, he stated the reason, where he stated, “I’m rooting for him. I’d be sick if Oleksandr Usyk won. Nothing against Usyk, but my heart lies with this Watford man.”

In previous interviews, John had stated that the approach he has to the fight was wrong. With the right adjustments in his training setup and team, he has the skillsets to beat Oleksandr Usyk. Regardless of the outcome of the fight, it was wholesome to witness John wanting his countrymen to win the belt and enhance the legacy of UK boxing.
